Champion President Olivia Tindoy of the Rotary Club of Manila JP Laurel Malacanang, with the help of its club partners, NIB News and Information Bureau of Malacanang and the Legal Service Department of Malacanang Palace together with selected members of different Rotary clubs from District 3810, bonded together for the purpose of giving a bundle of joy and relaxation to our community in the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW). During this occasion, the Aliw Quartet 2018 Awardee serenaded and sang with our selected inmates from CIW, the more or less six hundred (600) senior citizen females. Indeed, the therapy of music relaxation heals the soul and mind, creating a calming effect and an air of nostalgia, assuring them the peace they so long for despite their loneliness and emptiness of heart. The coffee, biscuits and hygiene kit immensely helped in augmenting their additional supplies. The health check-up and alternative treatments through massage and acupuncture were welcome additions to the joy we brought to the institution. Most of all, our presence in their midst was deeply valued inasmuch as it was highly appreciated. Certainly, our partners in this worthwhile undertaking displayed the marks of true Champions serving humanity in furtherance of “ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD” to which our club is forever grateful as championing this cause is truly a sight to behold.
