The association of twenty-two (22) Pasay Rotary Clubs more popularly known as JEPROCS or Joint Efforts of Pasay Rotary Clubs hit the ground running for Rotary Year 2019-2020 with its Royalty themed 22nd Handover and Induction at the Midas Hotel last July 31, 2019.
It was a grand, sparkly night with no less than the Mayor of Pasay, Emi Calixto-Rubiano as Keynote Speaker and District 3810 Governor Liza V. Elorde as Guest of Honor and Inducting Officer.
In his Valedictory Speech, outgoing JEPROCS Chairman Gerry Batallones, Inspiring President of the Rotary Club of Pasay EDSA, noted that “As Club Presidents and Rotarians, we are given that small chance to make life less miserable to those who are in need.”
Meanwhile, JEPROCS Chairman Walter Buenaventura of the Rotary Club of Pasay Southeast pointed out in his Inaugural Speech, “From this day onwards, let us realize our goal of making Pasay Clubs Rise!
He further called on the JEPROCS members to “reach out to our fellow clubs who will ask for our help. Let us make this year count more than just service projects, TRF contribution and membership growth, “as he exhorted them to “make Pasay Strong Again:”
This message for unity was reiterated by District 3810 Governor Liza Horde as she exhorted JEPROCS “not to compete with each other, but, instead, make the foundation stronger so it can do more good in the world.
” She vowed that “as long as I am your Governor and you are my Champion Presidents and Team, the JEPROCS TEAM will always be regarded as important as any club in the District.”
Capping the glamorous night was a ballroom dancing turned into a disco celebration led by Governor Elorde and First Gentleman Johnny with JEPROCS Chair Walter Buenaventura and Spouse, Senior Deputy Governor Triccie Buenaventura leading the throng.
Indeed, aside from its mission to be of “Service Above Self”, JEPROCS and the ROTARIANS of District 3810 also know when to have fun and fellowship. And, indeed, it was a great time we all had that fabulous night.
