Project I CARE (Inclusive Community Adoption Rebuilding and Empowerment) Paligawang Matanda Elementary School

I Project I C.A.R.E (Community Adoption Rebuilding and Empowerment) Paligawang Matanda Elementary School is an umbrella project of the Rotary and Rotaract Club of Carmona which serves 345 pupils, 12 faculty members, parents and barangay official. This project is composed of subprojects such as; Silid Kaalaman (Nipa-hut Library),Tara Aral Tayo, AraLaro (Learn and play), Feed and Read, Make Wishes Real, Free haircut for kids and adults, Donation of School Supplies, Donation of Electronic Whiteboard, Tree Planting Activity and Donation of Risk Reduction Equipment and Sports Equipment for their athletes which help the school and the community to sustain the basic needs of the pupils and help the pupils improved their skills and capabilities – in fact, for the past four (4) years of adopting this community, the club were able to lessen the number of their non-readers and slow readers both in English and Filipino and the club made the pupils excited to go to school to learn new things every day.

Project AKAP (Aksyon sa Kalamidad at Aruga sa Pamayanan) Batangas and Carmona, Cavite

When Taal Volcano erupted many citizens of Province of Batangas was displaced and relocated to some of its nearby places like Cavite Province. Project AKAP (Aksyon sa Kalamidad at Aruga sa Pamayanan) Batangas aims to help victims of Taal Volcano eruption to survive while their places are under restoration and there were still threat to their health and life. Rotary and Rotaract Club of Carmona were able to give food packs to 100 families in one of the relocation area in Alfonso, Cavite last January 17, 2020. On the other hand, they continue to help and were able to distribute mats, blankets, loaf bread, clothes to 300 families in one of the relocation area in Maragondon last January 18, 2020 and another 500 food packs in some areas in batangas.

Moreover, Covid 19 cases rises day by day and Luzon wide Enhance Community Quarantine are being implemented. Rotary Club of Carmona supports the Local Government Unit of Carmona in fighting against COVID 19 that’s why RC Carmona launched once again their Project AKAP (Aksyon sa Kalamidad at Aruga sa Pamayanan) to their fellow Carmonians. As much as the club wants to give it directly to the beneficiaries but because of social distancing and other circumstances they decided to turn over their donation to LGU Carmona for better distribution. Moreover, the club also donated five (5) Disinfectant Chamber made and customized by Transorient and PFS Automation Company. The believes that the disinfectant chamber will be very helpful to all Carmonians specially to our frontliners

Project PUNLA (Promoting Urban gardening through Nurtured Livelihood Activities)

Project PUNLA promotes urban gardening and livelihood training to the adopted community that has an income below the poverty threshold. Container gardening will be introduced wherein it can provide additional income and can supplement the diet for every household. This system of growing plants could use compost produced from biodegradable wastes and containers like cans and pet bottles. This scheme will enable the community to use their limited space and use organic compost and inexpensive growing container. It also supports the solid waste management of the municipality of Carmona. Series of seminars and training related to entrepreneurship will be conducted right after selecting a vegetable crop that will be subjected to post harvest processes and be marketed.
