This program aims to financially assist high school graduates whose family belongs to the class D or E in our society to go through a 4-year college program.  One (1) top graduate of each of our 4 interact schools recommended by the Interact Adviser and the School Principal, who enrolls in a baccalaureate program in a state university is given a Ten Thousand Peso (Php 10,000.00) allowance per semester for four (4) years. All that is required to maintain the scholarship is NOT to get any failing grade in any subject. The project started last RY 2018-2019 with 3 high school graduates (one did not pass the entrance examinations) for a total grant of Php 60,000.00 for A.Y. 2018-2019. Another 4 graduates qualified this year for a total of Php 140,000.00 for A.Y. 2019-2020.

“SAGOT KITA” Program

This program has a similar aim as the “COLLEGE ASSISTANCE FUND”. This is an offshoot of one of the Sustainable Development Goals and consequently one of the priority programs of Rotary International in Education. The Department of Education, in response to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the government launched a program to help Students At Risk of Dropping Out (SARDO). These are students who are enrolled in school but whose parents have difficulty in sustaining their daily expenses. This condition is one of the factors identified by the Philippine Statistics Authority as a major cause of none completion of education; i.e. dropping out.

The Rotary Club of Panday Pira Manila wishes to humbly contribute to to this cause. Presently, the club sponsors ten (10) high school students from the Carlos P. Garcia Memorial High School, who as of A.Y. 2018-2019 has a 3% drop out rate. The program was launched in A.Y. 2018-2019 and provides Php 4,000.00 transportation allowance per student per year.
