RCHM acknowledges that Rabies is a dreaded disease that can be controlled and  prevented. Hence, the goal of the club is to provide accurate knowledge and information on this viral disease caused by  Lyssavirus which is transmitted to human beings through the saliva following a bite or scratch by rabid animals, by conducting free  Rabies Awareness Seminar followed by Free Rabies Vaccination to its  adopted communities.

Snake Identification & Snake Bit Management Seminar

The Rotary Club of Hiyas ng Maynila has launched its second flagship project focusing on Snake Identification and Snake Bite Management thru awareness and information dissemination campaign. RCHM, in cooperation with the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM) and the president of the homeowners association of Ayala Greenfield Village in Calamba, Laguna conducted a free seminar lecture for the benefit of the homeowners and residents of nearby barangays in Calamba, Laguna. First Aid responders in the area also participated in the seminar.

Project Hiyas C.H.A.M.P.S.

Project Hiyas C.H.A.M.P.S. is the club’s 3rd Flagship project which targeted the implementation of the 6 areas of focus rolled up into 1 service projects done in 4 different occasions:

1) Calauis, Antipolo on Aug. 31, 2019, for the benefit of the Dumagat Tribe;

2) Mt. Tralala, Sitio Banca- Banca in Olongapo on Oct. 11-13, 2019, for the benefit of the Aeta community;

3) Basista, Pangasinan on Dec. 14, 2019, for the benefit of the natives in the poorest community in Pagasinan and Persons Deprived of Liberty on San Carlos, Hall of Justice.

4) Bgy. Tumaway, Talisay, Batangas on Feb. 2, 2020 for the benefit of 150 displaced families and 100 community children affected by Taal Volcano eruption
