As the District Governor of District 3810 of Rotary International for Rotary Year 2019-2020, Ms. Liza Vicencio Elorde reiterated, during the one-day DISTAS 2019 on May 04, 2019, the 12 rounds of “Governor’s Challenge” involving projects that Rotarians from Manila, Pasay City, Cavite, and Occidental Mindoro, will strive to achieve successfully. These projects will be officially called the “12 Rounds of Governor’s Challenge”, Elorde clarified.

Highlighted among these projects, Elorde also added, are the projects for the youth, whether they are still studying in schools or have not been given the opportunity for a formal education. Elorde allowed Rotarians from District 3810 to chose what projects they would wish to pursue for young Filipino children.

Elorde did not expressly mention it in her speech opening the District 3810 Training Assembly (DISTAS 2019) last Saturday but the underlying purpose of the Rotarians’ projects for the youth is to ensure that the youth would be pre-occupied with worthwhile activities that would pull them away from vices that could lead them to perdition, and which would give them a chance to participate in activities that promote the good of others which Rotarians are undertaking.
