When she and the nine other District Governors of the Philippines were undergoing mandatory governor’s training in San Diego California early this year, District Governor Liza Vicencio Elorde, without her even asking for it, was installed as the lead spokesperson and the de facto leader (or a leader because of circumstances, even without the process of direct voting) of the Rotary governors from the Philippines. She could articulate quite well, and that’s just for a start.
Now, while Liza was herself in the thick of preparations to train incoming presidents from different Rotary Clubs under District 3810 who will serve with her, she set new record-breakers, as for the first time, more than 80 presidents underwent the so-called Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (PETS) that was held at the Marriott and Widus Hotels at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, from March 08,09 and 10, 2019. Previous to her time, not more than70 Presidents-Elect usually attended the PETS.
For the first time ever, too, the Presidents-Elect from Occidental Mindoro came in full force to attend the PETS. Before, it was extremely hard for even one of them to attend the PETS. Yes, this is an indication that Liza Elorde’s leadership at District 3810 of the Rotary International in the Rotary Year 2019-2020 has the guidance and blessings from God. Because of this, Rotarians are assured of a leadership that centers around Rotary’s principle of “service above self”.
